Almond Copal's Story
Almond Copal Woods, 92, of Decatur, entered into rest on Oct. 30, 2017, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Mr. Woods was born Aug. 28, 1925, in Danville. Almond served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from Copeland Corporation after 33 years. Almond enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Brother Wayne Jetton will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon FCM Cemetery.
Almond is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Jane Woods; sons, Almond "AL" Ray Woods, Bowman "Dale" Woods (Reba), Stephan "Steve" Woods; daughter, Beverly A. Bricker (John D.); grandchildren, Heather, Bo, Alison, Rachel and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Mya, Haley, Livia, Hannah, and Devon; brothers, Ruel C. Woods (Carol), Morris "Bud" Woods (Joan), R.B. Woods (Rosemary); and sisters, Margret Hellen Carter and Dorris Looney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reno Bowman and Lillian Ora Burden Woods; brothers, Vermont Woods, Donald Woods, Orval Woods; and sisters, Ima Nell Guthery and Florrie Cotterman.
