Charles R. Riley, 84, of Falkville, died June 29, 2017. He was a retired U.S. Army 1st Sergeant, paratrooper, Vietnam veteran, Korean veteran, Master Parachute Badge, United Nations Service Medal, China Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, 1st-4th award, 1 overseas bar, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Driver Badge with bar, marksman submachine gun, M-14 Rifle Expert Badge, Joint Service Commendation Medal.
A retired Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) instructor for 20 years at A.P. Brewer High School, he was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 2, with a celebration of life service to follow at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations go to Hospice of Cullman County in the name of Charles R. Riley.
