Funeral service for Fred E. Hembree, 89, of Hartselle will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at West Hartselle Baptist Church, Bro. John Ingouf, Bro. Chris Martin and his son, Freddy Hembree, officiating. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Hembree died Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Lawrence County to James Henry and Thelma Veona Lindsey Hembree. He founded Hembree Machine, Inc. in 1970 and was the owner until February of 2016. He was a U.S. Army and U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II and the Korean war.
He was preceded by his parents; four brothers, Jerry, Billy Joe, J.W. "Hobo" and Bobby Hembree; and two sisters, Hilda Reeder and Lola Hembree.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Irene Hembree; two sons, Freddy Lamar Hembree (Gina) and Mike Edward Hembree (Jenelle); two brothers, James Hembree, Jr. and Doug Hembree; six grandchildren, Charity Hembree, Josh Hembree (Amber), Jared Hembree (Jamie), Jay Hembree, Michael Hembree (Wendy) and Suzanne Mizell (Mark); nine great-grandchildren; Eason Mizell, Coleman Mizell, Grant Hembree, Max Hembree, Cooper Hembree, Hudson Hembree, Alligrace Hembree, Lucas Hembree and Annaka Hembree.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Hembree, Lance Hembree, Paul Wright, Jimmy Dobbins, Frank Campbell and Solomon Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Sanford, Aubrey Anderson, John Skelton, Ron Hall, Charley Payatt, Charles Nolen, Jim Wright, Greg Boggs, Jon Anderson, Jeff Woodruff, Thomas Brooks, Scotty Maples and Brent Eaton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at Peck Funeral Home.
