Icey Lee Hayes, 75 of Cullman, formerly of Addison, entered into rest Monday, July 31, 2017, at her home in Cullman.
Icey Lee was born Nov. 11, 1941, in Good Springs, Tenn. She was a graduate of Addison High School and a member of the First Congregational Methodist Church in Cullman for two years. Icey Lee was a mother, homemaker and helped work the poultry farm they owned. She enjoyed attending senior citizen activities and loved going to singings and participating in them, and found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Nichols Funeral Home, Addison, where services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Brother David Estes and Brother Harold Widner will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Addison.
Icey was survived by her husband of 56 years, Wendell F. "Buzz" Hayes; son, Jason Wendell Hayes (April Dawn); grandchildren, Jessica Cheyenne and Trenton Richard Hayes; nephews, Darrell (Kathy) Huffman, Terry (Brenda) Hood; and nieces, Barbara (Yogi) Cutcher, Patty Hood, Rhonda (Mike) Langley and Sharon (Roger) Naylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah A. and Vertie Mae Hood; brothers, Buford (Esther) Hood, Delmer (Marian) Hood; and sisters, Beulah M. (Mack) Huffman and Nadine (Carl) Taylor.
