A memorial service for James "Sweet Cecil" Cecil Douglas, 89, of Cullman, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m.

Mr. Douglas passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Feb. 12, 1928, to Reason Monroe and Joan Thompson Douglas. James retired with 41 years of service at IMC, Tampa, Fla. He was a veteran, having serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mildred Robinson, Eloise Gay and Jean Conigilio; and a brother, Bill Douglas.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Edith Morrison Douglas; a daughter, Lisa (Dennis) Bushey; three grandsons, Christopher (Mandy) Bushey, Aaron (Wendy) Bushey and Dustin (Lydia) Bushey; a great-grandson, Mason Bushey; two sisters, Martha Freeman and Shirley (Ralph) Meeks; special sister and brother, Faye and Chuck Pantaleo; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
