James Davis Farley


James Davis Farley, 63, departed this life and went to his heavenly home with Jesus Christ in the early morning hours of December 29, 2018. James was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born in Cullman, James graduated from Cullman High School in 1973, and remained a Cullman resident for his entire life. He was a dedicated employee of Turner Construction Company for 32 years. At Turner, he was a project superintendent in the construction of large scale building projects in several locations throughout the Southeast.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling with his wife Jan, time spent at home and with family.
He is survived by his loving wife Jan Nay Farley, to whom he was married for 32 years, his adoring cat Grady, and his Yorkie Clancy, his sisters Brenda Sweatt, and Charlotte Baker, brothers-in-law Bill Sweatt and David Baker, nephews Beck Barnes and Chris Baker, nieces Laura Fuller and Sarah Baker. He was predeceased by his parents DJ and Wilma Farley.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 5 at 1 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Garden City Cemetery.
