Funeral services for James Tankersley, 69, of Cullman, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home,h Pastor Johnny Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Cullman Heritage Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tankersley passed away Sunday, Nov. 5. He was born April 25, 1948, in Cullman to Raymond Edward and Addie Lee Hendrix Tankersley. Mr. Tankersley was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and served two tours in Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star. He served from November 1968 to December 1973.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Tankersley and Addie Tankersley Cole; and his father-in-law, John C Jackson.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Elaine Tankersley; brother, Raymond (Peggy) Tankersley; son, Eddie (Katrina) Tankersley; special sister-in-law, Regina Holmes; grandchildren, Juston (Mattie) Tankersley, Brooke (Justin) Bryan, Haley (Tate) Cook and Lexi Tankersley; great-grandchildren, Brynlie Cook, Kanaan Bryan, Tymberlyn Tankersley and Ava Bryan; mother-in-law, Vetra Jackson; and a host of brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
