"Nick" Johnson, 18, of Crane Hill passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, at UAB Medical Center in the NICU. He fought a weeklong battle with traumatic brain injury, which he received in a vehicle wreck on May 12. A senior at Cold Springs High School in Bremen, Nick would have graduated May 20, with his classmates, among them many, many friends. He was employed at Cash Acme in Cullman as a technician.
Nick is survived by his father, Mike (Kemberlee) Johnson; his mother, Leisa Tankersley (Marshall Wilson); his grandmothers, Judy Mika, Judy Yancey and Pamela Taylor; his great-grandmother, Marjorie Jones; and his paternal grandfather, William Johnson. He is also survived by his brothers, Sgt. Michael X. Johnson, Maximus and Zebulon Wilson, Dustyn Tubbs and Tristyn Dean; his sister, Jennah Langseth; aunts, Donna Herring, Linda Johnson, Tracey Beasley and Karen Warren; uncles, David Johnson and Andrew Tankersley; nephews, Landon X. Johnson and Jayce Dean; and niece, Danielle Johnson. He loved his niece and nephews very much and they loved him.
He also left behind his special girl, his girlfriend, Rebecca Nabors; and so very many friends.
Nick smiled everyday, all day, and could outwit anyone in the room. His love for life was infectious.
The family will receive friends from noon Wednesday, May 24, until the celebration of his life, which begins at 2 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home in Cullman, with burial in Livingston Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Ballenger, Logan Starnes, Jonathon Campbell, Harley Hokombe, Chandler Dill, Michael Johnson, Tristyn Dean and Justin Jones.
