Orvin Whited, 93, of Cullman died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017.
Orvin was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in Germany and France. Orvin along with his wife, Virginia, he owned and operated Mayhew Shoes and Kullman Men's Shop in Cullman and Village Bootery in Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charius Virginia Whited; brother, Sherel Whited, and son-in-law, Robert Morrow.
Mr. Whited is survived by his daughters, Janice Thompson (Ted) and Carolyn Morrow; grandchildren, Wendy Thompson, Chris Thompson (JoAnn), Kenny Thompson (Karen) and Joni Quattlebaum (Eric); 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at First Presbyterian Church, Cullman. A celebration of Mr. Whited's life will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Cullman City Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Presbyterian Church in Cullman.
