Funeral services for Paul Jerome Burkhardsmeier, 25, of Hanceville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at Daystar Church, Jerry Lawson and Brent McDonald officiating, with interment in Bethlehem Methodist Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Paul passed away Feb. 7, at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. He was born March 12, 1991, in Birmingham. Paul was active in Cub Scouts at Good Hope and also in baseball and football until a disability robbed him. After adjusting to his disability, he was active in Awareness of NBIA Disorder, of which his disorder was a sub-type (MPAN). He was the 80th person worldwide to be diagnosed with sub-type MPAN.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Peter and Ida Burkhardsmeier.
Survivors include his mother, Michelle (Dewayne) Warden; his father, Daniel Burkhardsmeier; sister, Krystle Tyree; brother, Dustin (Saschia) Wilbanks; stepbrother, Johnathan (Abbey) Warden; maternal grandparents, Troy and Dian Scott; nieces and nephews, Madison, Mat, Mason, Cameron and Bryleigh.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
