Ruby Elwanda Evans, 74 of Vinemont, entered into rest Sunday, April 1, 2018, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Elwanda was born May 5, 1943 ,in Dora. She was a member of Piney Grove Methodist Church for 37 years. She loved to fish and enjoyed everything she did. She was the greatest mom and grandmother ever.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Nichols Funeral Home, Addison. Services will be at 2 p.m. April 4, at Piney Grove Methodist Church, Piney Grove community. Viewing will be from noon to 2 p.m., Bros. Tony Thorne and Greg Standridge officiating, with burial in Corinth West Cemetery, Vinemont.
Elwanda is survived by her husband of 37 years, Howell Wendell Evans; sons, Devon (Denise) Lacey, Thelan (Janet) Lacey and Kelly Johnson; daughter, Shelby (Dennis) Saint; stepsons, David (Mary) Evans, Heath Evans; stepdaughters, Gaylene Campbell, Rhonda (Ronnie) Thompson; brothers, Wendell (Vicki) Moody, Dale (Barbara) Moody, Randy (Linda) Moody; sister, Lunette (Vernon) Rice; she was "Ma-Ma" to 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Hilbert and Nora Timmy Moody; brothers, Calvert Murphy Moody, Orvil Calvest Moody, James Nathan Moody, Waffern "Tug" Moody, Hilbert Gary Moody; and sisters, Oma Jessielee Moody, Mary Ruth Moody and Neldia "Dot" Jones.
