Sandra "Sandy" Kay Hicks Bell, 62, of Addison, went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2018, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Oct. 20, 1955, in Fitzgerald, Ga. Sandy was a member of The Rock/Christ Fellowship Church for 37 years, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She graduated from Addison High School in 1974 and went on to graduate from the University of North Alabama in 1981. Mrs. Bell taught kindergarten at Double Springs Elementary School for 27 years. Sandy enjoyed decorating, cleaning house, painting, hanging wallpaper, doing yard work, working in her flower beds, shopping and especially loving on her grandkids.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at The Rock Family Worship Center - Smith Lake Campus, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Pastor David Nelson and Pastor Rusty Nelson officiating, with burial in Kemp Cemetery.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Creig Bell; son, Spencer Bell (Ashlynne Nelson); daughters, Gracie Flynn (Scott) and Katie Bell; sister, Patricia Turner (Ric); mother-in-law, Margie Bell; and special relative, Violet Wilkins. She was "San San" to her six grandchildren, Meri Kayte Flynn, Scout Flynn, Kash Cantrell, Cruce Bell, Cannon Bell and Charlotte Bell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A.G. and Imogene Hicks; and her father-in-law, Cordell Bell.
