Walter Thomas Brown, 89, of Cullman, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017.
Walter was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean war. He was a member of Lystra Missionary Baptist Church since he was 16 years old.
He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Edwin Brown; grandson, Thomas T. Brown; and parents, Noah and Annie Brown.
Walter is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nemridge Brown; daughter, Fonda Beth Coffman; sons, Roger Terrell Brown (Cindy Kam) and Thelbert Eugene Brown; daughter-in-law, Rita Brown; brother, Jimmy Lee Brown (Jan); nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Moss Service Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Lystra Missionary Baptist Church. Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m., with interment in Lystra Cemetery.
