Wanda "Polly" Burks Holcombe, 82, of Cullman, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, in Hanceville. She was born July 28, 1935, in Cullman County to Early Burks and Effie Mae Sloan Burks.
Mrs. Holcombe was a loving wife, mother of three, grandmother of four, and a great-grandmother. She was a telephone operator for AT&T for 25 years before retirement, and is a member of Mt. Vernon Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Holcombe was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years, J.C. Holcombe; brother, Allen Burks; and sister, Ann Graves.
Mrs. Burks is survived by sons, William "Bill" (Tina) Holcombe and Greg (Nita) Holcombe; daughter, Judy (Dave) Kennemer; brothers, Adrian G. Burks and Hugh Burks; sisters; Alice White and Imogene McClendon; grandchildren, Carrie Anne (Slade) Guess, Clay Evan Holcombe, Montana LaShea Holcombe and Kolby Grace Holombe; and one great-grandchild, Callister Kennemer Guess.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Dan McPherson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Clay Holcombe, Phil White, Ken White, Kevin Burks, Jason Burks, Tony Holcombe, Tom Camp and Brian Camp.
Care is entrusted to Holly Pond Funeral Home.
