Wayne's Story

Rev. Wayne Lee Nuss was born Aug. 27, 1934, in Cullman County to Oscar and Lillian Lee Nuss. Rev. Nuss entered into rest at Princeton Medical Center on Jan. 30, 2017.
He was called to preach in the middle 1960s, and was ordained on July 16, 1967. He pastored several churches in and around Cullman and Blount counties, such as Pleasant Grove Baptist, Garden City Baptist, East Hanceville Baptist, Simcoe Baptist and Mt. Tabor Baptist.
He enjoyed playing his guitar.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his three sons, Inez Raburn Nuss; brothers, Melvin Earl Nuss, Eugene Nuss and Jerry Nuss; sisters, Iris Prichett, Dorothy Ann Nuss Hickey; brothers-in-law, James Prichett and Franklin Wix; nephews, Tony Nuss and Justin Nuss.
Rev. Nuss is survived by his wife, Sandra Lee "Sandy" Nuss; three sons, Stanley Nuss, Randy (Frances) Nuss and Timothy (Lottie) Nuss; his sister, Brenda Wix; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; stepson, Charles (Teresa) Boulton; stepdaughters, Lori-Lyn (Frank) Wall and Kimberly (Hulon) Cole; 10 stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Nuss, Timothy Nuss, Chris Nuss, Greg Nuss, Jeff Nuss and Rick Nelson. Randy Nuss will be an honorary pallbearer.
