Annie Margaret Brock Forrester Watson, 93, of Columbus, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Altman Memorial Baptist Church, Pastor Udell Addison officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church.
Annie was born in Birmingham on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 1924. She is the daughter of James W. Brock Sr. and Lela Mae Miller Brock. Annie grew up in the Birmingham area and went to Columbus for employment, where she resided for over 70 years. During that time she made many friends working at Bibb Mill. While in Columbus, she also met Buford Forrester, whom she married Oct. 27, 1944. Together they had four children. After Buford's passing, she met and married Harold O. Watson.
Through the years, Annie enjoyed gardening, especially tomatoes and roses. What she loved the most was time spent with her family, especially all of her grandchildren. Annie had a deep faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and strengthened it by attending church every week and spending time with her church family.
Annie is preceded in death by her husband, Buford Forrester, husband, Harold O. Watson; daughters, Joyce Craft, Linda Williams; a son, Neil Forrester.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Milam; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
