Inis 'Inez''s Story
Inis "Inez" Virginia Macon, 90, of Vinemont died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017.
Inis, one of 23 children, was raised in the Vinemont community. She and her brother were known for picking a bail of cotton per day between the two of them. Inez loved to work for the Vinemont Baptist Church, where she was a nursery worker for over 50 years. She also was a Christmas Love volunteer. Inis loved to garden, can and quilt. Her quilts have found their way all over the United States.
Inis was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Macon; a granddaughter, Minda Macon; and 17 of her 23 siblings; as well as, her parents, Coy and Essie Wren.
Mrs. Macon is survived by her daughter, Frances McCurley (Lionel); son, Joseph Leon "Jody" Macon (Carolyn); a sister; four brothers; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moss Service Funeral Home.
Mrs. Macon's life will be celebrated at Vinemont First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, with interment to follow in Vinemont First Baptist Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m.
