James 'Jim''s Story

James "Jim" Allen, age 71, of Oneonta, passed away on March 6, 2017.
Mr. Allen was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church. He worked as a millwright for Stockham Valve and Americold and was the owner/ operator of Allen's Heating and Air for many years. He enjoyed raising his cattle, spending time with his family and working.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Herman and Lois Murphree Allen and sister, Wadie Edwards.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Reeves Casey Allen of Straight Mountain; daughters: Sandie Allen Buchanan of Cleveland, Shari Allen Hawkins (Steven) of Oneonta, Jeanie Allen Walker (Bobby) of Cleveland; stepdaughter, Carrie Casey Swann of Oneonta; stepson, Scott Casey (Candina) of Cullman; grandchildren: Josh Casey, Courtney Buchanan Gossett (Jake), Christopher Swann, Andrew Casey, Shawn Casey, Emma Hawkins, Abbi Walker, Sara Hawkins, Brady Walker; great-granddaughter, Katherine Casey; sisters: Bonnie Sherrer (Billy Joe), Betty Scott, Maxine Cooper (Grady) all of Cleveland, Pauline Hawkins (Melvin) of Cullman and Shirley Mason (Jimmy) of Cleveland.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Lemley Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m.. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Lemley Funeral Home on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 1 p.m., with Bro. Jeff Daily and Bro. Glenn Elrod offi- ciating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Casey, Shawn Casey, Brady Walker, Josh Casey, Christopher Swann and Jake Gossett.
