Funeral services for James Fred Lindley, 88, of Hartselle will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at West Hartselle Baptist Church, Rev. Jack Redfearn officiating. Viewing will be from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
Peck Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Lindley died Feb. 12, at Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veterans Administration. He was born Oct. 30, 1928, in Winston County to Joseph Franklin Lindley and Lessie Ward Lindley. Mr. Lindley retired from Redstone Arsenal after 30 years' service, where he was employed by the Department of Defense. He served as a technical publications editor for the LANCE Missile Project. Mr. Lindley also retired as a Chief Warrant Officer III with the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church since 1958; he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and had many other leadership roles.
Hewas preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Katrina Lindley; and a brother, Edward Franklin Lindley.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Cole Lindley; two daughters, Marne Greer (Larry) and Sonya Ward (John); four grandchildren, Nicole Cribbs, Justin Cribbs, Rebecca Greer and Joey Ward.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the West Hartselle Baptist Church Building Fund.
