Olen 'Cub' Arrington, 89, of Holly Pond, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 28, 2017. He was born in DeKalb County to Andrew Jackson and Lizeran Stevens Arrington.
Cub was a member of Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and served our country with honor for four years in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was predeceased in death by his parents; wife, Imogene White Arrington; daughter, Linda Kathleen Cook; brothers, Leroy, Dewey, Clarence, Lawrence, Millard, A.C, Clinton and Arlen Arrington; and sisters, Pearly Mae Hester and Lula Trussell.
Survivors are his son, Kenneth Ray (Penny) Arrington; daughter, Janice (Tim) Lee; sister, Agnes Burrow; grandchildren, Stephanie Cook, Dr. Johnna Lee, Tosha Arrington; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jackson, Jasmane, Preston, Alex and Jason.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holly Pond Funeral Home, Hughlen Murphree and Dudley Brock officiating.
