Ormond Dewayne Elam, 86, of Addison passed away July 29, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Elam was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Winston County. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church and served his country in the United States Army.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at Mt. Pleasant Church, where services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Brother Junior Garmon officiated. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Greenwood, Ind.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Elam; son, Bryan Elam; stepson, Bobby Watson; daughter, Carla Elam; stepdaughters, Michelle (Chuck) Rivers and Pam (Danny) Mitchell; brother, Hugo Elam; sisters, Allene Privett, Mervene Currie; sister-in-law, Marge Elam; three grandchildren, Candy Caldwell, Joel Elam and Matthew Elam; five stepgrandchildren, Chase (Jessica) Echols, Brent (Heather) Mitchell, Josh (Shae) Mitchell, Jason (Jessie) Watson and Scotty (Summer) Watson; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Caldwell, Andrew Caldwell and Alex Caldwell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Elam and Della Glover Elam; son, Daryl Elam; and brother, Jack Elam.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
