Ronald 'Ronnie''s Story
Ronald "Ronnie" Manuel Putman, 70, of Crane Hill, entered into rest Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Ronnie was born Nov. 17, 1946, in Oneonta. He was a 1965 graduate of Hueytown High School. He served in the United States Air Force for four years, with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He retired from CSX with 41 years. Ronnie was a devoted church member of Addison First Baptist Church for seven years. He enjoyed umpiring for softball and will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 25, at Addison First Baptist Church, where services will follow at noon. Brother Kenneth Sudduth and Brother Mark Kimbrell will officiate. Burial will be in Antioch Methodist Church Cemetery in Oneonta.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Veronika Putman of Oberammergau, Germany; daughters, Jo Anne (George) Martinez, Dixie (Raymond) Daves; mother, Edma Brannon Putman; brother, Jerome Putman; sister, Lillian Haines, Barbara (Eddie) Houts, Pam Putman; five grandchildren, Art Daves, Katie Quave, Julia Daves, Erica Martinez, Nicole Martinez; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel Putman; and nephews, Phillip Johnson and Keith Houts.
