Vern Marie Manley, 72, of the Helicon community, entered into rest July 9, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Vern was born Feb. 13, 1945, in Trinity, Texas. She was a graduate of the Class of 1963 at Trinity High School and attended Sam Houston University. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in the Helicon community for five years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 10, at Liberty Baptist Church in Helicon, where services will be at 7 p.m. Funeral services in Texas will be at noon Wednesday, July 12, at Antioch Baptist Church in Lovelady. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Vern is survived by her sons, Bryon K. Manley and his wife Jeri Dawn, and Duane H. Manley; brothers, Bob Jeffus and his wife Carolyn, and David Mack Jeffus and his wife Barbara; sisters, Dana Jeffus Coleman and her husband Maurice, Anna Jeffus Bishop and her husband Rusty, and Susan Jeffus Gearhart and her husband Danny; she was "Maw Maw" to six grandchildren, Meagan Hope Kyle, Jamison Bradford Kyle, Garrett Ridge Manley, Zane Keagan Manley, Savannah Ashlyn Manley and Gracie Rena Manley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Allen Manley; parents, William Daniel and Lois Mildred Calvert Jeffus; and brother, Danny Bill Jeffus.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 3724 County Road 40, Arley, AL 35541.
