Funeral service for William T. "Bill" Hutchens, 93, of Somerville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at Peck Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tommy Smothers and Rev. Harce Swann officiating, with burial in Arkadelphia Cemetery in Cullman County.

Mr. Hutchens died Wednesday, March 1, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1924, to Barney and Mattie Porterfield Hutchens. Mr. Hutchens served in the United States Marine Corps in World War II in the South Pacific, and he was also a Liberator in Guam. He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church and prior to retirement, was employed as a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara Jean Swann; a son, Rickey Julian Hutchens; and a grandson, Ritchey Hutchens.
Survivors include his wife, Willeen Hutchens of Somerville; a son, Michael Hutchens (Sheree) of Hartselle; a daughter, Rita Hutchens Gilbert, of Hartselle; two stepsons, Tim Burrell (Maureen) of Houston and Lonnie Burrell of Hartselle; a stepdaughter, Connie Burrell of Somerville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be J.W. Davis, Lavon Davis, Wayne Wolfe, Thomas Swann, Will Bloodworth, and Landon Grantland.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
