August Bono Obituary
Cullman - August 'Gus' Zigmund Bono, 77, of Vinemont, Alabama, passed away on April 23, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama.
Born on July 6, 1948, August led a life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his passions.

He was an aficionado of classic and muscle cars, owning many cars over the years, including two Packards and several Mustangs. His interest also extended to collecting clocks, ranging from vintage to modern designs. A devoted pet owner, August loved a succession of bully breed dogs, particularly American Pit Bull Terriers and English Bulldogs.
August was reared in the Catholic faith and later attended Temple Baptist Church in Cullman, Alabama. He was a long-time member of Alcoholics Anonymous, with 40 years of sobriety.
He is survived by his wife, Stefanie Light; son, Phillip Bono; sisters, Rosemary Bono Yale (Jess) and Suzanne Bono; brothers, Leroy and Frank Bono; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Pearl Bono, and his brother, Richard Bono.
