Barbara Sue Hamrick

On Monday, August 19, 2019, Barbara Sue (Rollins) Hamrick, mother of four, went to be with her Lord at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, James Charles Hamrick; and an infant sister.
Sue was born on April 8, 1933, to parents, Herschel and Clara Ruth Rollins. She is survived by her children, Ann (Neal), Debbie (Ellis), David (Katie), and Paul (Tatiana); grandchildren, Katie (Forrest), Clay, Mary (Mitchell), Mathis, James, Rollins, and Ella; great-grandson, Hudson; brothers, Butch (Sally) and Pat (Sharon); and special cousin Randall Rollins. Sue is also survived by numerous loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Sue lived life as a selfless and compassionate caregiver. Serving professionally as a nurse, including coming out of retirement to offer her gifts as a home healthcare nurse, she answered a calling to be there for those in need. Sue was a follower of Christ who was not only an avid student of His teachings, but a practitioner of His word throughout daily life. Her greatest passion, one that continued through her final moments on this earth, was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In all these endeavors, Sue was an exceptionally successful woman.
Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Cullman, 320 3rd Street SE, Cullman, AL 35055, on Monday, August 26, 2019, with visitation at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church (256-734-6690) in Cullman.
