Funeral services for Bobby J. Ryan, 85, of Hanceville will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Joel Coots will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation for the public will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Hanceville Funeral Home.
Mr. Ryan was born on Jan. 7, 1938 in Blount County to the late David L. and Ilene (Hays) Ryan. He passed away on Oct. 15, 2023 in Eva, Alabama.
Survivors include his children, Anthony Chris (Elena) Ryan and Ronald Ryan; grandchildren, Aaron Ryan, Matthew Ryan, Joanna Sessions, Jennifer Thompson, Jamie White, Whitney Harvell, Christin Williams, Alex Ryan, and Bobbie Ryan; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Janie Rice and Jackie Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ryan was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ryan; daughter, Cynthia Thornton; and siblings, Jimmy Ryan, Johnnie Tanguy, and Judy Ryan.
