Deborah Darlene Mayo (Debbie) Obituary

Casper, Wyoming - Deborah (Debbie) Mayo never met a person she couldn't nickname. Family, friends, coworkers, and even strangers often found themselves with a new name within minutes of meeting her.

Debbie was born on March 28, 1968, in Cullman, Alabama, to Ida and Jack Mayo. She grew up with her sister, Char, and brothers, Jack and Bill. When she wasn't being convinced to lie on the ground so her brothers could jump their bicycles over her, she was usually roller skating.

As a teenager, she worked at Pitts Grocery in Hanceville and never met a stranger.

Debbie said exactly what she thought, made people laugh when they least expected it, and could turn ordinary moments into stories retold for years.

She loved caramel macchiatos, road trips with her children, scuba diving in Aruba, Yankee Candles, plants, and just about any animal she came across. She could do math in her head faster than most people could find a calculator.

Debbie appreciated a clean house. In fact, she appreciated it so much that she was known to start making the bed while her kids were still in it, reminding them it was time to get up for school. She rarely left the house without her hair done and makeup on because she believed there was no reason not to look your best.

More than anything, Debbie loved and was proud of her children, Amber, Laura, Josh, and Sam, and her grandchildren, Maddox, Alma, Phoenix, Charlie, Cooper, Iver, Mason, Gabby, Tyler, Noah, and Maya. She was equally proud of her extended family and never missed a chance to brag about them.

Debbie built a successful career as a controller for Harley-Davidson dealerships in Wyoming and Texas. If she set her mind to something, there was nothing she could not accomplish.

A piece of her heart always remained in Alabama. Over the years, Debbie, her mother Ida, daughter Amber, cousin Stephanie, and Aunt Cassie made countless trips between Wyoming and Alabama to stay close and celebrate life's important moments together.

Debbie was funny, stubborn, and impossible to forget. Her laughter, nicknames, and stories will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends will hold a private farewell at a later date.
