Donald Gene Jenkins, 80, of Blountsville, passed away on May 1, 2020. He was born January 16, 1940, in Gadsden, Alabama, to Leonard and Lona Mae Holmes Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins was a member of Holly Pond First Baptist Church. He was a machinist by trade, working for Americold, and he also served our country honorable in the United States Army.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lona Mae Jenkins; five sisters; and three brothers.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Jenkins Walker and her husband, Russell; granddaughter, Maegan Walker and her husband Bruce Russell; grandson, Eric Walker and his wife Katie; two great-granddaughters, Alexis Walker and Illa Russell; and a sister, Joan Toyer and her husband, William.
Due to the restrictions in place concerning COVID-19, the family will lay Mr. Jenkins to rest in a private service held at New Hope #2 Cemetery.
