We mourn the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Elaine J. Persall, known as Nanny to the grandkids, great-grandkids and "strays" she took in over the years. She entered the gates of Heaven on October 5, 2024, joining her husband of 30 years, Jack Persall.

Graveside service will be Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 11 a.m., at Bethlehem East Baptist Church. The family will accept friends and family on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Elaine dedicated her life to serving the Cullman Community as a nurse. She was Momma of the ER at Cullman Regional for over 30 years. After retiring, her life was full of the same chaos as she spent her days with her husband and grandchildren.

Proceeding her in death were her parents, Paul and Modene Jackson; husband, James "Jack" Persall; son, Marston Lancaster; grandson, Matthew Lancaster; brother, Terry Jackson; and sister, Frieda Fox.

Elaine is survived by her loving daughters, Kelly (Jeff) Cornett and Kimberly Thomas; stepson, Pat Persall; grandchildren, Nathan (Kara) Cornett, Michael (Elizabeth) Cornett, Zach (Angela) Thomas, Chris Cornett, Emilee (Rory) Goodwin, Tony Lancaster and Jamie Persall; great-grandchildren, Seth, Paytin, Rylee, Brooklyn, Alivia, Everett, Ava and Trace.

The family wishes to extend their heart felt appreciation to the HNRC staff for their excellent care of their Nanny during the last 5 years.
