Gardendale, AL - Iva Mae Kimbril Jackson passed away, on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the age of 95. She began her career at UAB in Accounts Payable after her children graduated from high school and retired at age 62 with 18 years of dedicated service.
She married her childhood friend and her one and only love, Rev. Dillard C. Jackson. They began their life together in Arkadelphia, AL, later moving to Birmingham and settling in Gardendale, where they raised their children. They were partners in both marriage and ministry. Being married to a minister, he did most of the talking, while her gift was the work of her hands, and everything she touched shined.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dillard C. Jackson; her son, Gregory L. Jackson; her parents, Jennie Lou and Cecil Kimbril; and her sister, Lou Doss. She is survived by her daughter, Sheree and husband, son-in-love, Ralph Mitchell; her grandchild, Jennifer, and husband, Danner Kline; and her great grandchildren, Anne Camille and Rett.
Iva Mae loved and treasured her family and friends. With her sharp mind and love for the Braves, she passed peacefully and now rests in the arms of Jesus. In leiu of flowers the family request donations be made in her memory to The Jimmie Hale Mission, Birmingham, AL.
