Decatur - James Edward Lee passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 14, 2025 at the age of 78.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Tina Lee (his "Honey"); his children, Monica Reynolds (Jeff), April Taylor (Chris), Tim Lively (Katie), Zach Lively (Kayla), and Austin Lively (Michelle). He was affectionately known as Pawpaw by all of his grandchildren that he loved deeply; Morgan (Tom), Avery, Peyton, Taylor (Will), Shelby, Madison (Josh), Riley (Logan), Tyler, Aubrie (Brett), Wyatt, Chloe, Payton, Anna Claire, Jaxson, Kenley, Lilah Kate, and expected great-granddaughter Wrinlee. His brother, Chuck Johnson; sisters, Terri Johnson and Salina Lee. His nephews, Kevin (Ashley) and Parker; great-nieces, Mackensie ("baby girl") and Kamree. His best friend Bobby Jennings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Louise Lee.

His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten. His legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel, 2105 Beltline Rd SW, Decatur AL 35601. The Family will be receiving friends at 1 p.m. prior to the service.
