It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Johnny Green, a proud Vietnam-era veteran and resident of Oneonta, Alabama. He passed away March 31, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born on December 2, 1954, Johnny Green, a Specialist in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army, he exemplified courage and commitment, embodying the values of duty and sacrifice.
Johnny built a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to family and friends. He was known for his kind heart, sense of humor and loyalty to those he cared about.
He is survived by his sisters, Janie Tatro (Leonard), Betty Harkins and June McCluskey (Danny) and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Joycie Green; stepfather, Floyd Fortenberry; sister, Patricia Hawkins; and brother, Gary Green. He is grieved by close friends with special recognition to John Tucker and Tony Sweat, both of Oneonta.
