Funeral services for Margaret Cox-Dean of Hanceville will be 2 p.m.. Thursday, April 13, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place at Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Rev. Richard Bailey and Rev. Ray Ponder will be officiating. Visitation will be from 12- 2 p.m. on Thursday at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dean was born on Aug. 15, 1935 to the late Saul and Rosie (Swann) Cox in Blount County, Ala. She passed away at the age of 87 on April 9, 2023 at Hanceville Nursing and Rehab in Hanceville, Ala.

Survivors include her children, Sheila (Tony) Kretzschmar, Jean (Delane) Shelton and Wesley Dean; grandchildren, Joshua (Misty) Kretzschmar, Jacob (Katie) Kretzschmar, Matthew (Kimberly) Kretzschmar, Lee Shelton, Kellie (Stephan) Davis, Matthew (Sarah) Dean, Samuel Dean, Saul Dean, Johnathan (Toshia) Dean and Lindsay Dean; great-grandchildren, Logan Kretzschmar, Cason Kretzschmar, Hannah Kate Kretzschmar, Jordin Hester, Cole Shelton, Cloe Shelton, Sophie Davis, Cole Davis, Jackson Dean and Joshua Dean; brother, Cranston (Ruby) Cox.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Dean; son, Milton Dean; and brothers, Ralph Cox, Ray Cox, and Jerry Cox.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Dean's beloved grandsons.
