Memorial service for Martha Ann Bates Mazzara, 70, of Cullman, will be Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor James Fields officiating. Family will welcome friends from 1-2 p.m.

Martha passed from this life on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023. She was born July 10, 1953 to James Charles Bates and Arvella Pearl Ford Bates.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenny Bates.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth (Brian) Burchett; her best friend and companion, Sam Mazzara; four grandchildren, Sam Tomlin (Katelyn Downing), Caroline Tomlin (Preston "Landry" Gray) and Lucy Kate Burchett; nephew, John Bates; niece, Sharon Bates Thompson, and Faithe Burchett.

Martha was a wonderful lady who was very quick witted, fun and loved doing crafts. She was a dog lover and would adopt dogs that no one else wanted. She had a big heart and loved her family very much. She will be very missed by all who knew and loved her.
