Athens - Patrick Adolphus Waldrop, 85, of Athens passed away Monday August 4, 2025 at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home in Killen.
Mr. Waldrop was born December 19, 1939 in Tidmore, Alabama. He was a graduate of Auburn University and was retired from the agriculture industry. Mr. Waldrop was a member of 1st Methodist Church, Athens. Survivors include his son, Mitch (Sally) Waldrop of Gadsen; daughter, Mindy (Mark) Jackson of Athens; daughter-in-law, Dana Waldrop of Athens; Kevin Vandeberg of Madison; grandchildren, Dan (Kristen) Waldrop, Emily (Emerson) Simmons, Zeke Jackson, Zoe (Price) McGinnis, Annie (Scot) Hill, Maddie Waldrop, Luke Waldrop, Grey Vandeberg and Max Vandeberg; great-grandchildren, Tripp McGinnis, Jackson Banks McGinnis, Haley Kate Hill, Harper Hill and Murphy Glenn Waldrop; and sister, Martha Pullen of Gadsden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Rena Waldro;. wife, Hilda Waldrop; son, Scott Waldrop; daughter, Jinny Vandeberg; and sister, Mary Ruth Downey. Memorial service will be 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at First Methodist Church, Athens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to, Boys and Girls Club, Athens Beautification Board or your favorite charity.
