Hanceville, Alabama - Peggy Swann Anders was born in Morris, Alabama on February 15, 1935, to Dewey and Bonnie Doss Swann, the fourth of five children.
She is survived by her sister, Sue Swann Rogers; three stepchildren, Rebecca Anders Crosby, Jamie Anders Gallagher and Robert Kyle Anders; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Anders (Jim); stepson, John Kevin Anders; sister, Helen Swann Fountain; two brothers, Harold Swann and baby DD; and nephew, Dennis Swann.
After a fall and complications in late 2022, Hanceville Rehabilitation and Nursing Home became her residence. During this time, she and her sister, Sue, were able to visit regularly. She gained her wings under the compassionate care of Southern Hospice and the staff at HRNH on November 30, 2024. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Grace ECW (Episcopal Church Women) or your local animal shelter.
A celebration of life will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 19, 2024, at Grace Episcopal Church, 305 Arnold St NE.
