Cullman, Alabama - Talmadge "Bud" Alton Smith, 83, of Cullman, passed away on October 28, 2020. He was born June 25, 1937, in Cullman County, to Talmadge A. and Lily Mae Hesterley Smith.
Mr. Smith was a farmer and a teacher. He taught at both Cold Springs and Vinemont, where he taught school, coached, and drove the bus.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge A. and Lily Mae Hesterley Smith, and a sister, Virginia Freeman.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Maggie Smith; son Mitch Smith and wife Shelia; daughter, Heidi Walker and husband Ricky; grandchildren, Kristen Walker and husband Trent, Hunter Walker, Payden Smith and wife Caitlyn, Parker Smith, Isaac Smith; and a great-grandchild, Brooks Walker.
Graveside services for Mr. Smith are 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2020, in Holly Pond Cemetery, with Pastor Benjamin Smothers officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Bud's memory to Holly Pond Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Hanceville Nursing Home and Rehab for the exemplary care given to Mr. Smith during his time there.
