Vinemont, AL - Funeral Service for Vernon Arthur Oden, age 88, of Vinemont, will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne Harper officiating; burial at Macedonia Cemetery at Oden Ridge. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Oden passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025 at his residence. He was born September 23, 1936 to Ollis Arthur Oden and Venora Lillian Oden. Mr. Oden worked in the auto glass business most of his his life. He started out at Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Birmingham before he became a supervisor more than 16 states for Uni-Worth Glass in Atlanta, Georgia for several years until he decided to open his own business in 1981. He was the original owner and operator of Oden's Auto Glass, which is still owned and operated by family today. He loved his farm, cows, and garden, which was his greatest love, growing vegetables and taking them to other friends and family, especially his favorite, turnip greens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Arthur Oden and Jim Oden, sister, Mary Carolyn Oden; and son-in-law, Steve Ryan.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Carolyn Childers Oden; daughters, Sonya Ryan, Linda (John) Webb and Mary Jane Oden; son, George Oden; daughter-in-law, Doris Oden; grandchildren, Bradley Fields, Hannah (Cody) Landis, Elizabeth (Justin) Maxwell and Ben (Haley) Oden; great-grandchildren, Paislee Fields, Eli Landis and Slade Landis; brother, Larry Oden; and sister, Martha Oden.
