Wanda Sue Townson
Sadly, Alabama fan Wanda Sue Wright Goodno Townson passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at her home in Arab, Ala. Wanda Sue's last alert moments were watching her beloved Alabama play Mississippi on Saturday with family and friends. At her request, she will be cremated. Wanda Sue was born December 20, 1954 in Chicago, IL to Rev. Dalton James "DJ" and Shelly Faustine Parrish Wright
Being the oldest of six siblings Wanda Sue was often left in charge while their parents worked and made a living. She was like a second mother to her siblings and always protected them like a little mother hen. That continued throughout her lifetime with her always looking out for each of them and later that extended to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren when they were born. She loved to spoil each of them.
Wanda Sue was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Dalton James "DJ" Wright.
She is survived by her mother, Shelly Faustine Parrish Wright Carter; sons, Kerry "Hoke" Goodno and Kevin (Shirley) Goodno; brothers, Timothy "Tim" (Denise) Wright, James "Jimmy" Wright and Mark Wright; sisters, Ann (Junior) Goodno and Cathy (Michael) Kilgo; a special friend, Eugene Pitts; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel at 6 pm, Sat., Oct. 5, 2019. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Holly Pond Funeral Home is honored to serve Mrs. Townson's family.

I will always remember you as Sue. My older sister, wow it seems unreal to know you’re gone. I wish we were still little girls at home with mom and daddy. Things in life were so much better then, and simpler. I love you so much sis. It breaks my heart ❤️ knowing you’re gone from this earth. Only comfort is knowing you don’t have to suffer no more. May you rest in sweet peace now. Love you, Sue, your sister, Ann.
